A daily to-do list that doesn't become a guilt list

The list should shrink, not sprawl

Most daily to-do lists fail the same way: they become a rolling monument to everything you haven't done. Fifty items, most of them ancient, and the few that matter today buried somewhere in the middle. A daily list only works if it's actually daily — a short, honest set of what you'll do today, with everything else parked out of sight.

That's the whole design of this tool: Today holds the handful that matter now, This Week and Someday hold the rest without cluttering your view or your conscience. Just try it — put only today's real tasks in Today, banish the rest, and notice how much lighter a short list feels than a fifty-item guilt trip.

Common questions

How do I make a daily to-do list that works?
Keep Today short (the few things you'll do), park everything else out of view, and start it the night before if you can. A short, honest list beats a long aspirational one every time.
Why do my to-do lists never get finished?
Usually because they're week-lists (or life-lists) masquerading as day-lists — no day fits 30 tasks. Separate 'today' from 'someday' and the daily list becomes finishable, which is what keeps you using it.
