A shared savings goal that shows what the whole household has put aside

Saving together works better when the number is in one place

Saving for something together, like a holiday, a deposit or a new sofa, tends to live in someone's head or a note on one phone. Each of you puts money aside in your own way and nobody's quite sure where the total stands, so the deadline sneaks up and the plan gets quietly smaller.

Here the household shares one goal, say "Japan by June". Anyone in the household adds what they put aside, or takes something out, and the goal shows the total so far, the amount remaining and what's needed each month to make the deadline. If the household budget has a savings category, the goal can follow it, so what everyone who shares their budget puts there counts by itself, shown apart from what was added by hand. It also works for counting things instead of money, like ten family hikes this year. Each person's own goals stay private; only the goals you make for the household are shared, and you can see who added what. To be straight about the tiers: whoever creates the household needs a Premium plan and every other member needs Basic or higher; the goal tracker on its own is free. Common questions

Can we track a savings goal together without a joint account?
Yes. Each of you keeps your money where it is and adds what you put aside to the shared goal. It shows the total, the amount remaining and what's needed each month to make your deadline, without connecting any bank.
Can the household see my personal goals?
No. Only goals you create as a household goal are shared. Your own goals, with their milestones, tasks and habits, stay private to your account.
